Stuart's Return ch.2

-Dream Home midnight-

Stuart watched as Joshua and Liza finished cleaning the riot of tonight’s concert. Liza looked at Stuart, she knew they were her creator’s brothers who had died aboard the Titanic in 1912, she, knew some of their story; but it was Leonard who held secrets from her about his origins she had not gained her powers yet. She was barely out of her living skin and getting accustom to her new diet.

Liza looked then at Joshua, “Thank you for helping us Liza. You know our brother insists on leaving a big mess, you should be careful getting home. Leonard would be furious if you were to get attacked by thugs. Do you wish for me to walk you home?” Stuart stated then with a question of his own.

Liza shook her head,“I don’t think he would worry about me as much as two walking dead guys whose bodies are still adapting to land. I’m a big girl I think I can handle thugs, but I appreciate the thoughts though.” Liza gave them a lazy wave before walking from the building.


Joshua looked at Stuart,“Walking dead guys? That was just rude.” Josh put his coat on looking at Stuart.


“Don’t tell me you are jealous of Liza, Joshua. I doubt I can revive you if you two were to fight, she being a vampire and you being a ghost in human form I really don’t wish to make wagers but, Liza and Leonard are more aggressive than the two of us, cunning and manipulative. They are, accustom to their genes, we have been frozen in the bottom of the ocean for two years. Just don’t pick fights that neither of us will win. Stuart looked at his brother who sighed fixing his jacket as the two of them locked up leaving Concert Hall.
Joshua and Stuart walked until they came to Stuart’s black Suzuki parked in the shadows.
The two got in the car driving home, Josh looked at Stuart who drove. “You don’t find Leonard to be a bit arrogant? He seems too aggressive to live with himself.”

Stuart stated not looking from the road, “Arrogant, very. Aggressive to the max, yes; but, don’t forget Joshua if not for his help only one of us would be roaming tonight, I couldn’t have brought you back. You would have eventually faded along with the other victims of Titanic you should at least attempt to be a little more welcoming towards our brother. He is arrogant for many reasons, and the top reason that he is well aware of. He has control over this town and vampires at his level and below him.”

Joshua sat back in his seat, “ I thanked him for that, what else is there to say to him?”
Stuart stopped the car, “Why don’t you ask him, he’s inside. Probably getting ready to go to bed, you go ask him your question and try to be polite.” Stuart sighed getting from the car. Josh got from the car and walked beside his brother, the two of them walked to the door and stopped.

Jessica was still at the house, she appeared to be talking to Leonard.


Leonard looked at Jessica and sighed, “Are you almost finished, I will not make a promise that isn’t mine to make. I know your heart will mend soon, and I hope for my sanity very soon. What do you want me to do? Tell you that Stuart and Joshua will walk through that door just to make your life easier, where is your friendship towards me on this night? I’m tired and hungry, keeping you satisfied this week has drained a lot of energy out of me. Can’t you just relax and sleep so that I can go just for an hour or two, then tomorrow I promise you can lecture me all your heart desires.”

Jessica looked at him,“Leonard, I have cooked food all week having to throw most if not all of it out because you never ate any of it. I’ve even thrown out a great strawberry cheesecake, you are hungry on your choice I’ve cooked everything I thought you would like. Where am I going wrong? I am a good cook I’ve had many people tell me that, but you. You just shrug it off and it is wasted?”

Leonard sighed looking at the door causing Jessica to look also,“Is someone out there?”
Leonard stood up walking over to the door opening it, looking at Jessica. “It’s just some friends of yours it’s really not nice to keep them waiting.”

Jessica walked over to the door as Stuart stepped from the shadow’s Jessica ran to him as he wrapped his arms around her. Jessica looked at Leonard who was propped against the door frame, “Did you know about this, Leonard?”

Leonard looked at her,“Those two are the main reason I’m feeling like I died again, can I please, leave now? I have to say I’ve never been held against my will and hope it never happens again.”

Jessica watched as Leonard walked past her and Stuart,“I’ll see you tomorrow, right? Leonard?” Jessica asked as the vampire waved his hand.

Jessica looked at Stuart leading him and Josh inside the house. Josh looked at his old home, “Nothing’s really changed Jess, what’s the deal? Didn’t you say this was your dream house?”

Jessica looked at him, “ I love it the way it is, it is after all my dream house and thanks to Leonard being generous I can keep the house, I was falling a month behind on rent until he gave me the money I needed to pay it off. I’ve tried everything to pay him back, but he never seems to notice.”

Stuart looked at her, “I am sure he is grateful he is just exhausted right now. I’m surprised he is still standing straight after all his power he has used lately you should give him some space. He may be a vampire, but he is still human in ways.”

Jessica smiled holding Stuart close Joshua closed the door locking it as they soon got ready for bed.
